Assigning Text Effects
You can assign text effects only to text that has already been input. If you later input text in between existing text that is already assigned a text effect, the inserted text is also assigned the effect assigned to the text on the left and right. · The text effects are applied to text on the display, in addition to the printed text.
Changing Text Effects
There are three text effects that you can assign: shading, underlining, and boxed text. The following shows examples of each effect: Shading: Boxed Text:

Example: To shade "ABXYZ" in the following text. Press EFFECT to display a menu of effects.

· Label Length The label length is the print area, plus the side spaces. Settings you make for side spaces, block spacing, and mirror printing affect the entire label length.
Creating and Deleting Blocks
The following procedures describe how to create and delete blocks. Later you will learn how you can change certain settings on a block-by-block basis.
To create a block
Example: To input the text "ABXYZ Computer Company" and create two blocks: "ABXYZ" and "Computer Company". Move the cursor to the space between "ABXYZ" and "Computer Company". · If you wanted to break the text up into three blocks, you would input another block mark.

To delete a block mark
To delete a block mark, use the procedures for BS and DEL as described under "Deleting Individual Characters".
Character Pitch
The term character pitch refers to the relative spacing between characters. The Label Printer provides three character pitches from which to choose: NONE (0mm), NARROW (0. 5mm), and WIDE (1mm). The character pitch setting you make is applied only to the block where the cursor is located when you perform the setting operation. · The default character pitch setting is NONE.
To specify the character pitch
Example: For the two-block text "ABXYZ", "Computer Company", to change the spacing of "ABXYZ" to WIDE.

· It is impossible to change the PITCH setting while the cursor is located at a block mark ( ) at the beginning of a block of text.
Block Length
You can individually specify the length of each block that makes up your label. [. . . ] · Printer head or roller is dirty.

· The tape cartridge was loaded with too much slack in the ink ribbon.

Tape Cutter
Possible Cause · Tape cutter is dull or damaged.
Action · Take your Label Printer to an authorized CASIO service provider to have the cutter replaced. · Tape will not stick on coarse, wet, oily, or soiled surfaces.

· Tape does not stick.
