Settings
Silence All
You may silence all phone sounds, including the ringer and all alerts, while leaving the phone on. You can replace the sounds by setting the phone to vibrate or light up. Select an option and press in:
No, normal returns the alert to the ringer. is
Yes, lights only mode sets the phone to flash the backlight only. The is displayed on the screen.
Note--The phone will ring, not vibrate, if it is attached to a power source
(hands-free car kit or travel charger).

Keyguard
The Keyguard locks your keypad to protect your phone against accidental keypresses when the phone is turned on and a call is not in progress.

Highlight one of the locking options and press Guard Now locks the keypad immediately.

30s auto-guard locks the keypad if no keys are pressed for 30 seconds. 1min auto-guard locks the keypad if no keys are pressed for one minute. Auto-guard off unlocks the keypad and restores it to normal.
Settings
While the keyguard is activated, "Keyguard ON" appears where the menu usually appears.
Shortcut--To turn the keyguard on quickly from the home screen, press and
hold
for several seconds.
To turn keyguard off 1. The home screen menu returns.
Sounds
You may change the alert sounds your phone makes. For information about the automatic volume adjustment, see "To adjust the volume" on page 9. Press in to view the options available for that alert sound.

Headset Ringing When a headset is attached to the phone, you will hear incoming calls ring only through the earpiece on your headset. You can set your phone to alert you to incoming calls by vibrating before ringing through the earpiece. When an incoming call is received, the phone will now vibrate and then ring through the headset earpiece.
Display
You may change the appearance of your phone's screen. To change the appearance of the menus you see when you select Menu from the home screen, select Main Menu View, then the option you want: Small Icons Large Icons List Menus
Hot Keys Hot Keys provide shortcuts to commonly used features. They allow you to add a feature to the top level menu view (Web Browser, Contacts, etc. ). Once a feature is chosen as a Hot Key, you may access it directly from the home screen after you select Menu. Multiple features may be selected.

Note--If you no longer want a feature to serve as a Hot Key, you must uncheck the box. Select a setting and press in.
Security
You must enter your four-digit lock code (typically 0000 or the last 4 digits of the phone number) to set any of the options on the Security menu. When you lock your phone, you can only call a number set up as an emergency number, a service provider number, or a priority number. You can still receive incoming calls.

To lock the phone 1. [. . . ] A programmable phone option that sends incoming calls to another phone number. A service-provider feature which causes your phone to beep if another call comes in while you are on the phone.
