Preparations
Default Operation Mode
Use the following procedure to set the operation mode selected when the machine is powered on. Modes available are Copy Operation, Send Operation or Status Operation. It is recommended you select the most commonly used mode as the default. System Menu/ Counter

Character Entry
To enter an e-mail address, etc. , the characters are entered using the Numeric Keys. To move the cursor, use the , , , and keys.

Cursor -- Characters are entered by the cursor. To delete a character, move the cursor to the corresponding character and then press Stop/Clear. Character Limit Icon -- Indicates when the maximum number of characters allowable has been entered. Refer to Available Characters on page 3-9 for a list of the characters that can be entered using each key. Reset/Power Key -- Press this to cancel the character entry procedure. Left Select key -- Press this to select the left item when selectable items are displayed on the bottom line of the message display. Right Select key -- Press this to switch between character entry modes. Key - Press this to move the cursor in the message display to the left. [. . . ] Take sufficient care
when working in this area, as there is a danger of electrical shock.
CAUTION: The fixing unit is extremely hot. Take care when working in this area.
Online Help Messages
When Paper Jam is displayed, press left Select (Help) to display the procedure to clear the jam. Press to display the next step or press to display the previous step.
Press Enter to exit the online help message display.

Remove any prints on the output tray before performing this procedure.

Open the front cover.

Take the process unit out of the machine.

If the leading edge of the jammed paper is visible, pull it out towards you. If the paper has been fed to the rear of the machine but the leading edge is not visible, perform the Face-up Tray procedure.

Replace the process unit by aligning the pins on both sides with the guides inside the machine, and slide it into the machine until it stops.
