Taking Pictures with Digital Filters (Special Effect Mode)
The filters consist of a posterization filter that takes posterization-type pictures, a soft filter that produces soft-contoured pictures and a slim filter that produces a slim effect. The Special Effect mode enables you to take pictures using these filters.
You cannot use the digital zoom in Special Effect mode.

Posterization is an effect that uses a limited range of color tones and enables you to take posterization-type pictures.

Press the MODE button in Capture mode.
The Mode Palette appears.
Use the four-way controller (2345) to select (Special Effect). Press the OK button.

Taking Pictures with the Slim Filter (L) The screen for setting the slimness level appears when you select the slim filter in Special Effect mode.

In User mode, you can take pictures using the functions and settings registered in advance in User mode.

Using the Self-Timer
In self-timer mode, the picture is taken ten seconds or two seconds after the shutter release button is pressed.

Taking Time-lapse Movies

This mode lets you take movies at a delayed frame rate so that when you play the movie back, the action appears speeded up.
Press the MENU button in Movie mode.
The [A Rec. Mode] menu appears.

Use the four-way controller (23) to select [Movie]. Press the four-way controller (5).
The Movie screen appears.
Use the four-way controller (23) to select [Time-lapse Movie]. Movie
A pull-down menu appears.
Use the four-way controller (23) to change the time-lapse setting.
You can choose from [Off], [×2], [×5], [×10] and [×20].

Stops recording movie. · Off (×1) is the normal setting for movies (approximately 30 frames per second). Each time ×2 or ×5 is selected, the number of frames taken per second is reduced to 1/2 or 1/5. · As movies are normally played back at the rate of approximately 30 frames per second, movies taken at ×2 appear to be played back at twice the normal speed and movies taken at ×5 appear to be played back at five times the normal speed. · Sound cannot be recorded.
