The nominal voltage and frequency are indicated on the identification plate inside the fridge freezer. The appliance must be connected to the power grid and earthed in accordance with the applicable standards and requirements. The appliance can withstand brief voltage changes of no less than 15% and no more than 10% of the nominal voltage stated on the identification plate. If the supply cable needs to be changed, this procedure must only be carried out by an authorised technician from Smeg's technical support service. The shelves can be positioned at different heights as per your needs, by inserting them in the appropriate guides. Do not keep explosive substances in the appliance and only keep drinks with a high alcohol content in it if they are properly closed and kept vertical. Eutectic salts (if present) and the ice cube tray should be placed in the spaces provided (inside the top drawer). 41 Instructions for the user 8. USING THE FRIDGE FREEZER 8. 1 Switching on the fridge freezer Note Clean the inside of the fridge and the freezer before use. Plug in the plug Turn the selector switch (1) to position " ". 13 Note It normally takes about 24 hours before the storage temperature inside the fridge and the freezing temperature inside the freezer are reached. The surrounding temperature, the frequency with which the door is opened and the location of the appliance can affect the internal temperature of the freezer and therefore the amount of time required to reach operating temperature. Note Reopening the freezer door immediately after closing it may be difficult. Please wait 2 or 3 minutes to enable the low pressure which has formed to be compensated for. 8. 2 Adjustment and selection of the cooling temperature The selector located in the upper part of the fridge and visible when the door is open is used to adjust the cooling temperature inside the fridge compartment. Attention Position " " corresponds to turning off the fridge freezer (the appliance is still supplied with electricity but the green light will be off). Increasing the size of the " " symbol corresponding to the regulation reduces the temperature inside the fridge. Select the maximum settings only if necessary: in these positions, in fact, temperatures close to 0° C can be reached in the fridge cell, resulting in increased energy consumption. [. . . ] The aim of this section is to enable you to identify the origin of any operating fault that may arise before contacting Smeg's technical support service. 48 Instructions for the user 10. 9 Replacing the inside light Before replacing the bulb, make sure that its failure to operate is not simply because it has become loose inside the lamp holder. In any case, whether you wish to check that the bulb is inserted correctly or you wish to change it, for safety reasons, you must first remove the plug from the power outlet (or turn of the main switch). Fig. 18 To replace the inside light bulb (1) carry out the following steps in the order provided below: - Press the sides of the lightning device cover (2) in order to release the fastenings of the cover A and pull it downwards (3). - Replace the bulb with another 15 W bulb of the same type, with the bulb holder E14 .
