Reading SMS messages
To read stored SMS messages: 1. Following a message regarding the loading procedure, the menu "Stored SMS" is displayed. If the text of the message does not completely fit in the text window, you can scroll using the + and - buttons on the remote control. It is possible to scroll line-by-line to the bottom or top of the message.

Below the display window for the text, the sender's call number is displayed (only if caller identification is supported). The function buttons below have the following purposes: "Edit" the displayed text can be edited, e. g. to attach a reply "SMS list" in the case of several incoming SMS messages, you can skip entries in the list of incoming SMS messages "Options" to send or delete the SMS message displayed as well as reusing the sender's call number ("Use number")

Writing SMS messages
When you would like to write an SMS message: 1. The last character typed can be deleted using the "Delete" button. To send the text message, see section "Sending SMS messages".
SMS templates
Frequently used texts are available, which only need completing or modifying by you. A ready-made text menu is displayed in the "SMS templates" menu. You can view and select the available standard texts via "List of templates". The text can now be individually modified or supplemented via the keyboard.

To send the displayed SMS message: 1. The "Send message" menu is displayed.

Enter the receiver's complete call number (with international code if necessary) or select from phone book and confirm with the "OK" button. 1 When attaching a reply to a received SMS message and display of the sender's call number, the call number is automatically adopted in the "Send message" menu.
Versions
This information is important for Customer Service (please have this information at hand during calls to Customer Service/ Customer Helpdesk) In order to obtain information regarding hard and software versions of the hands-free unit: Select the option "Versions" from the list of functions in the phone menu. The relevant information is displayed.

OPERATION
Direct dialling of displayed call numbers (in the case of additional information on map CD)
With certain map CDs, additional information regarding points of interest can be called up (see "Points of interest" in the navigation system operating instructions). Where the additional information contains a telephone number, this can be dialled directly. Select the point of interest with the additional information (see navigation system operating instructions) The additional information may be displayed e. g. When the phone symbol is highlighted: Press the MENU button and select the option "Activate" in the popup menu. [. . . ] Note: Depending on the phone holder, different plug-in retaining clips are also supplied for the phone. The clip to be used is visible on the stamped model designation of the mobile phone. If changing the phone holder (converting to a different mobile phone) the power supply should be disconnected from the control unit during the conversion work.
